About the Role
Our client is a VIC government organisation based in Nunawading VIC. They are currently seeking a Payroll Officer to come in and join their team on a fixed term opportunity until mid January 2027.
Candidates for this role must have:
- Proven high volume end-to-end payroll processing experience
- PayGlobal system experience (Essential)
- Previous local government experience (Desirable but not essential)
Key responsibilities will include:
- End-to-End Payroll Processing: Manage and execute payroll processing for up to 1300 employees, ensuring full compliance with superannuation, taxation, and accident compensation obligations.
- Award and Compliance Interpretation: Accurate interpretation and application of Council’s Enterprise Agreement, relevant modern awards, statutory regulations, and internal policies.
- Technical Advice & Dispute Resolution: Provide high-quality support and accurate advice to resolve complex employee payroll inquiries and service needs effectively.
- Internal Stakeholder & Customer Relations: Deliver responsive, professional service to both internal and external customers to build and maintain positive working relationships.
- Governance & Compliance: Conducting all tasks in accordance with relevant legislation, statutory requirements, and relevant policies.
- Records Management: Checking, filing, storing, and archiving payroll and personnel records securely.
- Process Improvement Initiatives: Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities within customer service and payroll administration to enhance organisational efficiency.
About You
You will be an experienced Payroll professional with proven experience and reliability in previous positions.
The successful candidate will possess:
- Proven high volume end-to-end payroll processing experience
- PayGlobal system experience (Essential)
- Previous local government experience (Desirable but not essential)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
